Sandro Tarazi
Sandro Tarazi is the founder of Giulia's Secret, an Australian jewellery and antique silver retailer in Western Sydney, NSW. He holds a degree in Jewellery Science and Technology from the University of Milano-Bicocca in Italy, and personally examines, describes and photographs every piece the business lists.
Background
Sandro trained in Jewellery Science and Technology at Milano Bicocca University in Milan — a technical programme covering gemmology, metallurgy, hallmarking and manufacturing rather than design alone. He founded Giulia's Secret in Sydney and named it after his daughter, Giulia. He describes jewellery as “the technology of enchantment”: a personal talisman rich with meaning and memory.
What he does at Giulia's Secret
- Reads and photographs the hallmarks on every antique silver piece before listing — maker's mark, standard mark, assay office and date letter.
- Grades and describes stones to gemological standards: exact carat weight, colour, clarity, and whether a diamond is natural or lab-grown.
- States metal purity precisely — 9K, 14K, 18K, 925 sterling, 999 fine silver — and distinguishes solid metal from plated or vermeil on every listing.
- Answers customer enquiries personally, usually within 1–2 business days.
